I'm Angel Blackwood, and I'm a fantasy author. Writing it that way makes it feel like a confession in front of some group of addicts. Well, I guess you can call me an addict of writing. I picked up a pen when I was thirteen, and I've been hooked since. I yearn to put words down when I'm away from my computer, so I scratch them out on notepads or napkins or as notes on my phone. When trying to sleep, my brain constructs plots to stories I meant never get to write. I have so many stories that the word document they're all plotted in is long enough to be its own book. I've plotted out Steampunk stories, High Fantasy stories, Urban Fantasy stories, Dark Comedy Fantasy stories, but mostly, I write Dark Fantasy. I'm enthralled with the grit and blood and realism twined together with magic and made up races I can write in a dark fantasy, like my novel Kindling. So there you go. I'm Angel Blackwood, and I'm a fantasy author.

On the occasions I'm not writing, I sate my hunger for words with books, music, and singing loudly in the car. I work long hours in Critical Care at night and attend University for my Master's degree during the day. I like to hike, camp, draw, and go on adventures. With all that lack of sleep, I'm held together with coffee, power naps, and immersing myself in my made up worlds. There's too much happening in my books to be tired while there.
